This was where
my sister and I attended first grade in 1941-42. Our mother was the teacher: Vesta L.
Johnston. My name is Bonita or Bonnie and my sister's is Florence. There were only the two
of us and one boy. I believe there is a picture of us somewhere in one of our
albums.
The only stories I can remember are about my mother's Christmas programs. The boy (can't
come up with his name) and Florence did a skit to "My Merry Oldsmobile." I think
this is where Florence recited "The Visit of St. Nicholas" or "The night
before Christmas" by heart in its entirety. I was too shy to get up there and say
anything.
I know we only stayed one year, then Dad got a job with the Ohio Oil Co. and we moved to
the Dry Creek Oil camp out of Bridger, MT. I am a teacher in Busby, MT--actually the
librarian. My parents have been gone for quite a few years. |
