Jan 1st Sun.-16+ to 32,nice-We went to church. Al, Sonja & Rays here for dinner.
Jan 2nd Mon.-10+ to 35+,clear & nice, some windy-I patched some pockets for Allen. Worked on apron & fixed my hair. Sonja had us over for supper. We all went to Baumans in evening.
Jan 3rd Tues.-10+ to 39+,nice, clear-Men got a load of coal. I painted a plaster dog & fixed a venetian blind for Sonja.
Jan 4th Wed.-20+ to 45+,nice-We went to town, took Sonja along.
Jan 5th Thurs.-45+ to 50+,cloudy & windy-Men watered cattle. Mildred came. Men helped Ray put in car pass. Al worked on his car. I washed my hair & Sonja put it up. I mopped kitchen.
Jan 6th Fri.-50+,strong wind-Al helped Frank spray cattle all day. Gib & I took Sonja in to town for her appointment with the doctor.
Jan 7th Sat.-32+ to 50+-I dusted the living room & rested awhile. Men hauled water & ground feed. Mrs. Jones & her mother came. The kids went to show.
Jan 8th Sun.-32+ to 44+ to 52+,some wind-I started on new Bible lessons.
Jan 9th Mon.-50+,partly cloudy, nice-Men butchered our steer. Ray helped. We washed. Mildred gave me a Lilt. Mr. Brunemayer came.
Jan 10th Tues.-26+ to 50+,partly cloudy-Men cleaned calf barn. I patched a few things, swept & mopped. Sonja ironed. Don Conolly died. We went to Legion Meeting with Rays.
Jan 11th Wed.-38+ to 59+,lovely day-Men hauled out our junk. Brought the meat in. Sonja did up my hair & sewed. I dyed some twine for rug. We went for a walk.
Jan 12th Thurs.-46+ to 56+,windy-We all went to Don Conollys funeral, visited the folks, had supper at Genes, & went to a show, "The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come".
Jan 13th Fri.-28+ to 40+,nice-I cleaned & defrosted refrigerator & deep freeze. We cut up over half of our beef. Sonja wrapped it.
Jan 14th Sat.-40+ to 48+,nice-Finished cutting & wrapping meat. Canned 28 quarts & Sonja cut out a dress. Al & Sonja went to Cimrhakls.
Jan 15th Sun.-58+,windy-We went to church. I canned soup.
Jan 16th Mon.-50+,windy-Gib & I went to town. Had our meat ground, & got the car fixed. I cut Dad's & Cora's hair.
Jan 17th Tues.-22+ to 41+,nice, snow, E wind-I cleaned house, swept, dusted & mopped. Baked rolls & cookies. Sonja sewed. Men fixed fence on Ackerlys. We all went to Rays in evening to see Eisenhauser on TV. Started to feed oil cake.
Jan 18th Wed.-20+ to 31+,nice-Baked bread & rolls, Mildred mixed them out while I fixed a dress for her. Sonja sewed. Men fixed fence. We all went to Murphys in evening for income tax work.
Jan 19th Thurs.-20+ to 40+,I baked a cake & cookies for bake sale. Rested awhile. Sonja sewed. I went o Fellowship meeting at Satterfields with Rays.
Jan 20th Fri.-10+ to 30+,nice-I packed stuff for bake sale. I took Mildred & Stella in to Roy. After the sale, Mildred & I went over to see Ida. Got home about 5. We all went to Rays in evening.
Jan 21st Sat.-30+ to 40+,-I cleaned house, baked 2 kinds of cookies & washed my hair. We went to Southworths.
Jan 22nd Sun.-30+ to 35+,windy-Didn't do much. Finished checked apron. Sonja sewed. We all went to church in evening.
Jan 23rd Mon.-18+ to 30+,cool-The kids went to Lewistown. Hauled water in morning. I crocheted awhile, then started to make a pie box for Margie.
Jan 24th Tues.-4- to 30+,clear & cold-I worked on pie box, cleaned up the house. Made a lemon pie.
Jan 25th Wed.-10+ to 12+,cold, windy, light snow-I cut out some doll clothes for Stevie & Sharon. Made a shirt & overalls for Stevie's doll. Crocheted on baby blanket. We visited Al & Sonja in evening.
Jan 26th Thurs.-4+ to 15+,clear-I baked a cake & pudding, sewed doll clothes & crocheted on afgan. Men did chores & went to Roy for fuel & groceries.
Jan 27th Fri.-4+ to 37+,clear, nice-We did a big washing. Vernon & Arlene came for water for school. Gib & Al fed cows some straw & fixed fence around garden.
Jan 28th Sat.-10+ to 14+,cold-I cleaned house, washed my hair & trimmed Sonja's. Read.
Jan 29th Sun.-5+ to 20+,snow-We all went to church. Had the kids in for supper. I crocheted & read.
Jan 30th Mon.-Zero to 24+,overcast, snow-I baked a cake, dyed some baling twine for rugs, wrote to Emily & Margie. Baumans & Nick came & we all visited out at Als. Went to bed about 11:30.
Jan 31st Tues.-20+ to 28+ to 25,cloudy-Men went to town with a load of barley to trade for oil cake. I ironed, visited Sonja & walked up for the mail. Gib bought at TV. We took it back.
February 1961
Feb 1st Wed.-30+ to 37+,wind-I baked cookies, made candy & helped Sonja bake bread. Made 2 doll shirts & wrapped package to send to Sharon.
Feb 2nd Thurs.-20+ to 48+,lovely-I drove over to Myers', but no one home. Men fed cattle a load of straw. Sonja & I drove over to Rays. Cliff Marsh brought out word that Uncle Will died this morning. Mikes came.
Feb 3rd Fri.-30+ to 39+,overcast, nice-I wrote to Aunt Margaret, Dicks & Teds. Al & Sonja went to town. I helped Gib feed cows straw. Started to make a braided rug of baler twine.
Feb 4th Sat.- Nice-Uncle Will's funeral. Cleaned house. Richards came. Mildred came. Baked bread. Gave Margie a permanent.
Feb 5th Sun.- 50+,lovely-I went to church with Rays. Als went to church in Lewistown. Dicks, Als, & Rays here for dinner.
Feb 6th Mon.-30+ to 54+,lovely-Gib & I went to Lewistown. Took TV back to Kruegers. Visited the folks, had supper at Genes & called Albert. Rays at Als in evening.
Feb 7th Tues.- 40+ to 50+,lovely, then cloudy-We did a big washing. Men did chores, then started to tear Ted's car apart.
Feb 8th Wed.- 28+ to 50+,lovely-Men did chores & worked on Ted's car. I mopped kitchen, gave Stella a permanent & made cookies. Sonja ironed.
Feb 9th Thurs.-51+,very nice, windy-I washed windows & baked rolls. Men fixed fence near Mikes. Rays came for water. Gib, I & Sonja went to Roy for groceries & to call cattle sprayer.
Feb 10th Fri.-58+,warm, mostly cloudy-Gib & I went to town to sign up of AAA to work on dams. Got home about 4. Went to Rays in evening.
Feb 11th Sat.-30+to 48+,light rain-Floyd Carlson came & sprayed our cattle. Rays, Ray & Harold B helped. I baked rolls & a pie. We went to Rays awhile.
Feb 12th Sun.-42+,chilly, windy-Trimmed some of the cows toes, cut off one horn. Put cows on Ackerlys. Sonja had us over for dinner.
Feb 13th Mon.-18+ to 45+,clear, light rain-Men brought cows back from Ackerlys because the dam is too muddy. The kids left for Helena about 1:30. I made Valentine cookies for school party. I ironed. Made sandwiches for lunch at hall tonight.
Feb 14th Tues.-30+ to 42+,chilly-Gib did chores. I cleaned eggs & washed my hair. Took Mildred along to school Valentine party at 2:30. We took Stella to Legion meeting with us. Saw a movie on communism.
Feb 15th Wed.-30+ to 35+ to 48+,at 7PM, chilly-Gib did chores & watered cattle. We went to Lewistown at 11AM. I went to Home Demonstration meeting, then to Dr. Culley at 3:30. Saw the folks a few minutes. Got home at 6:30.
Feb 16th Thurs.-9+ to 14+,cold, clearing-Gib did chores & watered cattle. I studied Bible lessons & started stove in trailer house. Al & Sonja came home about 9PM.
Feb 17th Fri.-3+ to 14+,light snow or frost-I read, dusted the house & made a baby kimono. Baked rolls.
Feb 18th Sat.-9+ to 34+,clearing-I mopped kitchen & fixed my hair. Men did chores & ground feed. Went to Rays in evening.
Feb 19th Sun.-30+ to 40+,windy-Gib & I went to church with Rays. Had dinner at Marsh. Clarks there too.
Feb 20th Mon.-55+,mild & windy-Sonja pinned up my hair. We all had oyster stew here. Agusta & 3 kids came. Mildred came. We went to town at 2:30. Planed to take Grandpa to Great Falls tomorrow, but he didn't have to go. We went to a show & came home.
Feb 21st Tues.-38+ to 62+,warm, windy-Men hauled water. We did a big washing. Dampened clothes. Men brought 2 year old heifer in. Al & Sonja went to Rays in evening. Alvin Anderson came. Al & Sonja both have colds.
Feb 22nd Wed.-34+ to 40+ to 15+,nice, windy, then cold-I swept & ironed. Mr. R. E. Williams about 4:30. Here for supper. I went to Dorothys with Rays for meeting of Fellowship ladies.
Feb 23rd Thurs.-10+ to 20+ to 38+,clearing-Gib & Ray went to Lewistown to stay for WW1 meeting. Al & Sonja went in PM too. Mildred here till 5. I cut out & sewed up my dress. Wrote Ted. Als came home with Gib about 11:30.
Feb 24th Fri.-24+ to 52+, windy, partly cloudy-Telephone men strung up wire today. I made a clothes rack with horses head for a lady in town & sewed on my dress.
Feb 25th Sat.-34+ to 36+,strong wind, dust storm, clearing-I cleaned house, baked bread & cookies & washed my hair. We all went to Rays.
Feb 26th Sun.-22+ to 34+ to 36+,nice-I gave Sonja a permanent. Fleschs stopped. We went to church "family night" with Rays.
Feb 27th Mon.-23+ to 44+,windy-Gib, Al, & Sonja went to town. Gib got load of oil cake. Got home about 4. Mr. Williams & Ernie Bowser came at 2, left at 4:40. Agusta came. I sewed on my dress. I painted horse head clothes rack.
Feb 28th Tues.- 22+ to 40+,windy-I cleaned house & started to make some soap. Men brought cows home & kept heifers here. One had a calf. Put cows on Ackerlys & fenced the dam. Mrs. Flesch came & we worked on lesson for Home Demonstration meeting. Gib has a cold.

Mar 1st Wed.- 40+ to 60+ to 30+,bad wind, blowing dust-I made a batch of soap. Finished my dress. Made cookies. Wrote to Margie. Worked on Bible Lessons. Men brought cow back to water.
Mar 2nd Thurs.- 30+ to 36+ to 20+,cold wind-Cleaned some stuff out of east closet. Pressed red dress. Cleaned eggs. Trimmed Sonja's hair. Men watered cattle.
Mar 3rd Fri.-10+ to 38+ to 25+,snow-I took Stella & Mildred to Home Demonstration meeting at Charlottes. Al & Sonja went to Lewistown & got home about 9PM. I worked on baler twine rug.
Mar 4th Sat.-23+ to 26+ to 10+,snow, then clearing-I cleaned house & washed my hair. We went to Rays in evening.
Mar 5th Sun.-3+,clear-We didn't go to church. We all went to Conollys in evening, took Rays along. Dick came.
Mar 6th Mon.-28+ to 52+,nice-Men did chores. Fed & watered calves & heifers. Dick left about 11AM. I crocheted, made baby gown & finished baler twine rug.
Mar 7th Tues.-20+ to 45+,clear, cool-Men went to Conollys sale. Sonja & I went to town with Mrs. Flesch. She & I went to Home Demonstration Meeting. Sonja stayed with Maxine. I saw the folks.
Mar 8th Wed.-48+,nice, SW wind-I fixed 3 chairs & piano bench. Mr. Gilskie came to see if we would sell our place. Ground feed. We all went to Rays in evening.
Mar 9th Thurs.-23+,cloudy-Gib & I went to Lewistown. Took Dad downtown. Saw Genes. We stopped to visit Mrs. Elsie Jones, had supper on way home. 2 calves.
Mar 10th Fri.-48+,nice, snow showers-We did big washing. Dennis Fadrhonc & another man put the telephone wires on our poles, put a new bulb in our yard light. Al went to Mikes. Dons to get electric fence. (No Good)
Mar 11th Sat.-20+ to 46+,lovely-I cleaned house, washed some rugs & washed my hair. Als went to town in AM. We went to Rays. Conollys came.
Mar 12th Sun.-30+ to 46+,nice-We didn't do much or go any place. Jackie Styer stopped.
Mar 13th Mon.-42+ to 60+,mostly cloudy, windy-Sonja did my hair in pin curls. Mildred came. I baked Legion cake & ironed. Gib & Al went to grazing meeting. 1 calf.
Mar 14th Tues.-Sprinkles-Gib, I, & Sonja went to Lewistown. Sonja went to Dr. Barelman. I to Culley. Gib went to bull sale, bought a bull. We stopped to talk to Mrs. Murphy about selling out. Went to Legion Meeting. Al came for Sonja.1 calf.
Mar 15th Wed.-38+,nice, windy-Gib went to town with Baumans, brought bull home. Sonja & I drove over to Agustas, then to Mildreds. Al ground feed. Gib & Al went to Baumans in evening. I made baby clothes. 1 calf.
Mar 16th Thurs.-56+,nice, windy-Men vaccinated 6 calves with Vitamin A. I washed outside of Sonja's windows, cleaned & washed our car. Mildred & I went to Fellowship meeting with Charlotte at Mrs. Harrells. 1 calf.
Mar 17th Fri.-50+ to 26+,nice-I cleaned house & made baby kimono. Sonja's brother Ted & Geneva came. Rosalie Charboneau came & stayed until 11 o'clock.
Mar 18th Sat.-26+to 22+,nice-Sonja went home with her brother. Gib & Al helped Baumans butcher. I baked cookies, cut out 2 aprons & 2 kimonos. Made apron.
Mar 19th Sun.-58+,nice, windy-I went to church alone. Gib & Al did chores. I helped Mildred in PM put plastic on tables & cupboards. 12 calves so far, 1 dead.
Mar 20th Mon.-58+,nice then windy-Men brought the cows all home & kept a few younger ones home. I made 1 apron & a kimono. 14 calves.
Mar 21st Tues.-48+,cool-Gib & I took a load of wheat to Lewistown to get cleaned. Gib got 2 teeth pulled. We saw Gilskie about selling our farm. Baumans came in the evening.
Mar 22nd Wed.-58+,like summer-Al started to sow wheat on Sharps. Gib sowed at noon & did chores. I sewed some, washed some curtain & woodwork. Gib went to Roy to get a piece for drill welded.
Mar 23rd Thurs.-40+ to 67+,south wind-Put heifers with calves over west. Al went to Roy for repair on drill, got home about 1:30. Gib went to WW1 meeting with Rays. Got home at midnight. Al & I fed sick calf. 15 calves.
Mar 24th Fri.-57+,windy-Put more cows & calves over west. Al sowed wheat north. I cleaned house & cleaned trailer house. Sick calf died. 15 calves.
Mar 25th Sat.-32+ to 42+-Al sowed wheat on south side of flat & started up SE piece. I patched hose & crocheted. Sonja, Howard & Raydeen came home from Helena. Kids all went to Lewistown.
Mar 26th Sun.-45+,nice, cool-Howard Andersons left about 1:30. Gib & I went to Rays in PM, stayed for supper.
Mar 27th Mon.-25+ to 30+,mostly cloudy-Gib & I went to town about 1PM. I had a treatment. Al finished sowing wheat. 21 calves.
Mar 28th Tues.-28+ to 44+,clearing, nice-Men put 3 more cows over west. I helped Sonja make bread. Two men came & put in our phone. Mildred came & I gave her a permanent. We all went to Rays in evening to see TV. 24 calves.
Mar 29th Wed.-58+,lovely-Sonja & I did a big washing. Gib & Al did chores, then took a load of calves & a couple of cows to sale.
Mar 30th Thurs.-28+,light snow-Mildred went with me to help clean the church. Left home at 9:45 got home at 3:30. I ironed in evening. Mrs. Jones & son, Buddy, wife & baby came. Al got a load of barley cleaned.
Mar 31st Fri.-18+ to 60+,lovely, light rain-Al sowed barley. All done. We took Ray's truck home. Sonja & I drove over to Mikes. I cut Stella's hair. Practiced piano for East. Mopped kitchen.
April 1961
April 1st Sat.-28+ to 58+,nice-Dusted the house. Practiced songs. Made a cake. Al was judge at school election. Gib went to Rays.
April 2nd Sun.-50+,sprinkle-I went to church with Rays. Al & Sonja went to church in Lewistown. Went to Southworths but no one home. Ted called us.
April 3rd Mon.-50+ to 69+,windy, sprinkles-I painted cupboard, tables & washstand white. Mr. Cold came with Fuller brushes. Men brought our tractor home from Baumans. Sonja sewed a few minutes.
April 4th Tues.-28+ to 39+,chilly & windy-Men took 2 yearlings & a cow to the Vets. I finished painting also stool & high chair. Made a baby gown & jacket. Dick came about 6PM. We visited till 11PM. 43 calves.
April 5th Wed.-20+ to 39+,chilly, windy-Dick left about 10. I wrote to Teds. I painted & sewed.
April 6th Thurs.-20+ to 50+,nice-Al & Sonja went to town at noon. I painted cupboard knobs & stool top red. Man from Lewistown came to see if we wanted to buy his house. We went to visit Fleschs in evening. 47 calves.
April 7th Fri.-48+,cool-I washed my hair & Sonja put it up. Mildred came. We went to Myers'. I cut Agusta's hair & we all went to Home Demonstration meeting at Betty Heils.
April 8th Sat.-50+,nice-I mopped kitchen. Gib & I went to town about 10. Started vitamins.
April 9th Sun.-50+ to 32+,showers-Sonja gave me a Toni permanent. Mrs. Jones here a few minutes.
April 10th Mon.-18+ to 44+,cloudy-Sonja is cleaning & waxing trailer house. I made 2 baby gowns & kimono. Helped Al put in some shelves.
April 11th Tues.-60+,cloudy-Men brought in a couple of cows. I looked through some Oral Roberts magazines. I went to Legion meeting with Rays. 53 calves.
April 12th Wed.-40+ to 60+,overcast-Al took 2 cows in to the sale. We went in about 11, met Al coming home. We stayed for Gary's birthday dinner. Got home about 10PM.
April 13th Thurs.-Bad wind, flurries-Charlotte & Agusta came at 1:15 & we made out annual reports for American Legion Auxiliary. I typed activity report & wrote to Bob. Al & Sonja went to town. Over 60 calves.
April 14th Fri.-Cool, nice-I went to town with Mike to stay with Stella after her operation.
April 15th Sat.-Nice, cool-Mike & I got home at 11:30. I rested awhile. Agusta & Dorothy called. Mildred came. Gib went to Rays.
April 16th Sun.-60+,ncie- I went to church alone. Al washed his car & ground feed. Gib & I went to Rays in evening.
April 17th Mon.-45+ to 70+,misty, windy-We did a 3 week wash. I dampened the clothes, made the bed & swept.
April 18th Tues.-64+,lovely, sprinkle-I mopped utility room, ironed & sewed some. Baked bread. Men cleaned toilet, brought 4 cows in & hauled junk. Als went to Rays.
April 19th Wed.-47+ to 53+,cool, overcast, sprinkle-Gib & Al took some cows & yearlings in to the sale. I painted cupboard, tables, stool, & high chair white enamel. Cleaned eggs & picked eggs at night. Men got home about 5PM.
April 20th Thurs.-48+,bad wind, dust-Al worked on his car brakes. I put decals on the cupboard & painted stop of stool red, washed living room woodwork & washed north bedroom curtains. I took Mildred to Fellowship at Opals.
April 21st Fri.-60+,lovely-Men put tin on roof of shop & started on the shed roof. I cleaned cellar & pantry. Waxed pantry floor.
April 22nd Sat.-49+,-I cleaned house & washed my hair. Gib & Al tore the boards off shed roof & put in new 2 x 4's. We went to Rays. Rays & Ida went to Valentine. I cut hair.
April 23rd Sun.-32+,heavy wet snow-We had Al & Sonja in for chicken dinner. We read & rested. I worked on Bible lessons. Dead calf. 67 calves.
April 24th Mon.-47+ to 26+,thawing-Very wet & muddy. Al & Sonja went to town about 11:30. I varnished piano, rockers, library table & clock. Wrote to Teds.
April 25th Tues.-50+ to 30+,flurries-Roads are muddy. Al took Sonja, Mildred & I to Sonja's shower at Pucketts. Monte here. Ray visited with Gib & Al.
April 26th Wed.-49+,Gib & I went to Lewistown. Saw Genes & the folks. Went to see a 40 acre place out beyond Hobson with Harold Erickson.
April 27th Thurs.-48+,cool, overcast-We washed. A Mr. Gradle came here for dinner. Gib & Al put some tin on shed roof. Rays came for water in forenoon.
April 28th Fri.-33+ to 50+,nice, mostly cloudy-I cleaned house, mopped & waxed living room & utility room. Men finished shed roof. Western Life Investment man came. We took out $500 in stocks. We went to Rays in evening to see Emily Puckett.
April 29th Sat.-34+ to 67+,cloudy, clearing-I re-waxed part of living room & utility room. Sonja did my hair up. Rays & us went to WW1 meeting at Roundup.
April 30th Sun.-47+,rain-Men did chores. We rested & read. I didn't feel good. Baked rolls.
May 1961
May 1st Mon.-70+,nice-The men took the cattle over to the Steinfadt pasture, but they didn't stay there. I varnished kitchen tables & chairs, & sewing machine. Cleaned bathroom & washed eggs. Mildred came.
May 2nd Tues.-Showers-I went to town with Charlotte & Arlene to a Home Demonstration meeting. Gib & Sonja went in about noon. We did some shopping & got home about 4. Sonja called her folks.
May 3rd Wed.- 66+,lovely-I waxed some furniture & washed windows. Had Als over for Sonja's birthday dinner. I touched up spots with paint. Agusta stopped. Monte called.
May 4th Thurs.-I mopped & waxed kitchen & porch. Al helped Monte brand calves. I baked cup cakes & angel food cake.
May 5th Fri.- 58+,nice, rain-I made Jell-O desert & washed my hair. The 13 ladies came to Home Demonstration meeting here. Men cleaned the barns.
May 6th Sat.- 40+ to 50+,clear-I helped feed cattle. Al sowed barley on Ackerlys. We rested some. Went to Rays in evening. Conollys too.
May 7th Sun.-47+,cloudy-I went to church. Als went to church in Lewistown. We went to Rays in afternoon.
May 8th Mon.-70+,lovely-I baked cookies & bread. Helped Gib feed & water the cattle. I wrote to Teds & Emily. Al & Sonja got home about 7PM.
May 9th Tues.-66+,-I swept & dusted. Made 2 pot holders. Studied Auxiliary stuff. Al fixed a tire & worked summer fallow southeast of house. We went to Legion meeting with Rays.
May 10th Wed.-78+,nice-We washed in forenoon. Al finished field & sowed some barley. Helped Ray do some work on his dam. Had a hard rain & some hail about 3 o'clock.
May 11th Thurs.-60+,nice, warm-I did my ironing after dinner. Studied Bible lesson. I went to Fellowship meeting with Charlotte & took Mildred home. Men fed cattle, lowered stock rack.
May 12th Fri.-60+,nice, still-I cleaned house, cut Sonja's hair & washed the car. Sonja & I went to Stella's. I cut her hair. Al painted stock rack.
May 13th Sat.-Gib & I went to town. Went to Rev. Armstrong's open house. Dick & Margie came in forenoon, stayed over night.
May 14th Sun.-Showers-Fred Warneke killed. We all went to rodeo at Winifred. Dicks left from there. Al & Sonja went with Cimrhakls.
May 15th Mon.-64+,nice-I swept the whole house, patched Al's overalls & typed the Auxiliary history. Als went to town after dinner. Rays came for water. Gib & I drove over north on the range. Grass no good.
May 16th Tues.-70+,nice, then cloudy & cold-Men helped Don brand at Mikes. I went over for awhile. Sonja drove over, we came home about 11:30. I gave Sonja a permanent.
May 17th Wed.-64+,cloudy-Al worked summer fallow north of dam. Mildred & I went to Roy to meeting of Bible School Teachers, got home at 5. Al worked 2 strips up SW. I have a head cold.
May 18th Thurs.-70+,warm, partly cloudy-Al helped Frank brand. I helped Gib water & feed the cows. Rays went to Fred Warneke's funeral. I have a head cold. We drove over to Rays in evening.
May 19th Fri.-70+,nice-Al helped Frank till noon. I helped Gib water our cattle & rode Trigger. Have a stiff neck, cold gone. I baked cookies.
May 20th Sat.-80+,-Gib, I, & Sonja went to town. I had a treatment for my neck. Al watered cows & worked on Sharps.
May 21st Sun.-88+,hot, then cloudy-I went to church with Rays. Als went some place. I cut out my plaid dress.
May 22nd Mon.-80+ to 70+ to 50+,nice, mostly cloudy-We did a big washing. Al finished Sharps & started on Ackerlys. Rosalie Charboneau came for water.
May 23rd Tues.-77+,clear, nice-Al finished Ackerlys, he & Gib watered cattle. Gib & I went to town so I could take another treatment for my neck. Al worked on strips up NW. We got home at 7:30.
May 24th Wed-80+,warm,nice, still-I finished my ironing. Sonja cut my hair short. Al finished summer fallowing strips. He & Dad watered cows at the dam up south.
May 25th Thurs.-85+,warm, wind-I baked bread, rolls cookies & 2 kinds of doughnuts. Al helped Spiroffs brand, got home at 2:30, then helped water cattle. Sonja, Mildred & I drove over to Pucketts. Gib & Al drove out on range.
May 26th Fri.-86+,hot, smoky-Gib, I & Sonja went to town about 8:20AM. I had another treatment for my neck. Sonja washed baby clothes at Maxines. We had dinner there. Men watered cows, ground feed & hauled out junk.
May 27th Sat.-80+,nice, windy-Mildred & I went to Roy to help with our Auxiliary bake sale. Went to Ida's too. Richard came to Ida's a few minutes. We went to Rays in evening.
May 28th Sun.-88+,-The kids went fishing with Bob Cimrhakls. I cleaned up the house. Mrs. Flesch got water. Charles Petranics came.
May 29th Mon.-98+,hot-I left for Bible School about 8:10. Got home about 1. Went to Lewistown with Al & Sonja & went to Dr. Dion to get my ear treated. Went to cemetery with Papa. We got home about 7:30.
May 30th Tues.- Cool & cloudy, thunder storm, wonderful rain-Went to Bible School again. Stopped at Dorothys & Mrs Andersons. Got home about 2:30. Carl Jantzen got his truck stuck on top of Rays hill & Gib pulled him out with tractor.
May 31st Wed.- I baked bread & cookies & read awhile. Too muddy to go to Bible School. Gib & Al rode around to see if the dams got any water in them, not much.
June 1961
June 1st Thurs.-72+,nice, clearing-I left at 8 for Bible School, got home at 12:35. Sonja & I played Bingo. I read awhile & baked bread for cats. Irene's car broke down & she came in to phone for Lyle.
June 2nd Fri.-80+,nice- I went to Bible School, last day. Afternoon Dorothy & I cleaned the church. June Conolly helped. Got home about 3:30. Went to Home Demonstration meeting at Busenbarks with Charlotte. Gib went to Rays. Albert Distad died.
June 3rd Sat.-84+,nice-Gib & I went to town. Home at noon. Al dragged the road. Men watered cows. Rays stopped. I ironed shirts, packed suit case for Gib.
June 4th Sun.-98+,hot-The went to Albert's funeral. Gib & Ray left for Malta at 5:45. Mildred, I & Donny Myers helped water cattle. Went to church. She stayed here.
June 5th Mon.-91+,hot, E breeze-We did a big washing. Donny helped Al water cattle. Mildred went home & Al helped her take her cattle over to north pasture. She stayed here for overnight. Took off storm windows.
June 6th Tues.-90+, hot, SE breeze-Mildred & I did my ironing. I hoed some in flower bed. Donnie helped again & he & Als were here for dinner. Mike stopped. Als went to town. I went with Mildred & stayed overnight.
June 7th Wed.-85+,overcast, nice, NW breeze-I helped Mildred change her living room around, we drove over to see her cattle. Came home & baked cakes, did some cleaning & worked in flower beds. Mildred went home & cleaned house & came back.
June 8th Thurs.-90+,hot-I cleaned house, washed my hair & took a bath. Al took Sonja in to Lewistown. I took Mildred & Stella to Betty Heils baby shower. I cleaned Als porch & mopped my kitchen. Bob & Shirley Cimrhakl came.
June 9th Fri.-90+,hot-I swept, dusted & worked in trailer house. Al came home & he & Donny watered cattle. He hauled water, then went back to town. Gib, Ray, Emily & Mae came about 5:15.
June 10th Sat.-90+,hot-Sonja & Al's baby girl was born at 12:30AM. We all went to town at 10, home at 5. Andersons came.
June 11th Sun.-91+,hot-Dicks, Genes, Rays, Andersons, Mae & Emily were all here for dinner. Al went in to see Sonja.
June 12th Mon.-84+,hot then windy, rain-Gib & Al watered cattle. We went to Rays for dinner. Al took Andersons to town to see Sonja. We came home about 3. Al got home about 4. I baked bread & cookies. It rained & got slick after 3PM.
June 13th Tues.-60+,raining-I shortened 2 window shades & baked rolls. Al brought Sonja & the baby home in PM. Rays, Emily & Mae came. Got stuck. Andersons stayed here all night.
June 14th Wed.-77+,clearing, partly cloudy-We & Rays took Mae & Emily to Malta to catch the train, got home at 3:30. Andersons slept here.
June 15th Thurs.-82+,clear, hot-Gib & Al watered the cows & put them on Rolphs. Al took Andersons home. Left about 1:15. I washed the babies clothes, cleaned house & washed the car. I slept with Sonja & fed the baby.
June 16th Fri.-100+,hot-Gib & I went to town about 9:30. Al came home in afternoon. Saw Aunt Margaret & Pearl on the street.
June 17th Sat.-96+,hot-We branded calves. Had 8 men & us 3 women for dinner. I washed baby clothes & hauled water.
June 18th Sun.-85+ to 60+,cooler-Gib & Al separated the cattle & took some out north on the range.
June 19th Mon.-85+,cool then hot-We helped Rays brand. Then I helped Al fix the mower. Took care of the baby in evening while Sonja did her work. Men hauled water & took some cows to Rolphs.
June 20th Tues.-90+,hot-We did a big washing, machine broke down so I did it by hand. Gib & I went to Mikes for truck, but it wouldn't start. Al mowed hay then took in some yearlings of Dons & ours.
June 21st Wed.-76+,cooler-Al mowed & raked. Dad baled till baler broke down. Dad took Agusta & baby to the hospital. Thought she had a snake bite. I ironed, read & took care of Brenda awhile.
June 22nd Thurs.-75+,nice, windy-Baumans brought their baler over & Al finished baling hay that was ready. We are all going to town. Gib to dentist, Al to get repairs for baler. Sonja & I stayed with Maxine awhile.
June 23rd Fri.- 86+,nice, windy-Al mowed some hay. Gib went to Baumans to meet county commissioners in forenoon. I hoed, spaded around trees & yard. Cut out a dress for the baby & a bolero for me. Gib worked on Sharps. Sonja & I went to Mildreds
June 24th Sat.- 96+,hot-I cleaned house, washed my hair & sewed a little. Al mowed & raked. Gib finished Sharps. Bob Cimrhakls came & kids all went to Roy. I kept the baby.
June 25th Sun.-96+,hot, windy-Men baled hay till 11AM. Kids went to Rodeo in Roy. Ray too. Mildred stayed here. I kept baby.
June 26th Mon.-96+,hot, windy-Gib went to work on Sharps about 6AM. Al got to work about 9:30. Mildred went to town with us in PM. King got his foot cut off when Al was mowing & he had to kill him. We bought an Air cooler for Als.
June 27th Tues.-95+,-Gib finished on Ackerlys & started strips west of dam. I washed babies clothes. Mikes came to see the baby. Al raked & baled hay on flat. Swan came. Sonja & I went to see TV.
June 28th Wed.- 96+,hot, shower-Gib & I took a cow & heifer to town. Visited Maxine & the folks.

July 2nd Sun.-92+,hot-I went to church with Rays. Teds went to town. Al went to town at noon. Harold, Monte & Donna came in evening.
July 3rd Mon.-98+,hot-I sewed on clothes for Hardee & Betty. In the afternoon, I kept Hardee while Teds went to Cimrhakls & down to see the bridge. The girls washed baby clothes & I got dinner.
July 4th Tues.-82+,mostly cloudy-Gib & I went to the rodeo at Komareks. I baked pie & cookies. I kept Hardee & Brenda all night while the kids went to Lewistown to celebrate Teds wedding anniversary. I sewed some more.
July 5th Wed.-84+,nice, showers-Teds left about 2PM. Sonja went to Helena with Ted. Betty & Hardee stayed in Roy. I tried to rest. Mildred came.

Aug 2nd Wed.-96+,hot-Men brought a few more cows home, bailed alfalfa & stacked it. Mildred gave me a permanent. Mr. Brunemeyer came. Sonja ironed. Dick came at 11PM. We all went to Rays to see TV.
Aug 3rd Thurs.-98+,hot-Gib & Al rode out about 7AM & got most of the cattle home. Dick left about 10:20. Als went to town about 2. We drove out to see cattle & pasture. Rays came in evening.

Aug 23rd Wed.-98+ to 83+,hot, then cooler-Al rode with Frank again. The rest of us all went to town. We took Dad & Cora downtown. Got home at 6:40. Mildred brought me some beets.
Aug 24th Thurs.-Hot-I washed out a few clothes & ironed. Mildred & I went to Home Demonstration club meeting at Hilger with Arlene. Sonja washed & ironed. Al rode with Frank.
Aug 25th Fri.-Left home at 7:52. The sky is a little overcast. We & Tom went with Als. Stopped at Maxines at 9:30 to heat the Brenda's bottle. Left at 9:45 for Helena. There are 9 missile sites on the way to Lewistown. Saw 2 more, 1 by Eddies corner, 2 south of there. 1 near Judith Gap 4, south of here, 1 north of road near Harlowton. Went through at 11. Got to White Sulphur Springs at 12. Had dinner $5.80, gas $4.95. Gib & Al got some beer & coke. Left at 1PM. It got cloudy & cooled off, sprinkled a little. We got to Andersons at 3 o'clock. Had supper. We drove up to Teds later. Gib, I, & Tom stayed with Teds. Als went back to Andersons.
Aug 26th Sat.-Ted got Al's car & Al used Mr. Andersons. Ted took us out to Frontier town so Tom could see it. We had lunch at Teds, then all of us & Andersons drove out to Borgies. Had supper there. The men went back to Teds to see the fight on TV. Al took the rest of us home later. Teds went with Als to celebrate Al & Sonja's Anniversary. We stayed with Hardee.
Aug 27th Sun.-Betty & I went to church. Had lunch, then went to the church at 2PM to see Brenda baptized. Went to Andersons for dinner in afternoon.
Aug 28th Mon.-Teds went to work, then Ted came back about 10AM. I cleaned house, washed the dishes, took a bath & got dinner. Ted brought Betty home for dinner, then they both went to work. We read & watched TV. Als came for us at 3PM. We went back to Andersons. Got some apples & left for home at 3:30. Went through White Sulphur Springs at 5. Stopped at Harlowton for supper at 6:20, $3.60, & gas $3.60. Left at 7. Got to Lewistown at 8. Stopped at Maxines to feed the baby. Left at 8:45, home at 10.
Aug 29th Tues.-95+,hot mostly cloudy, lightening-I canned crab apples & juice & baked 2 apple pies. The men cleaned the well. Rays helped. They hauled water. I cut Al's hair & he drove over to Don Myers.
Aug 30th Wed.-85+,warm-Ray & Gib took Tom to Malta to take the train home. Dale Nelson's car wouldn't start, so Al pulled it to Roy. Al took Sonja & baby to the doctor for colds. I washed some, ironed & worked in flower bed.
Aug 31st Thurs.- 90+ to 78+,hot then cloudy & strong NW wind-Al went to look for work again. I bathed Brenda & cleaned house. Sonja ironed. Gib worked summer fallow. Fleschs, Mikes & Mildred came & we went over the Home Demonstration play again.

Sept 1st Fri.-52+ to 68+ to 60+,cool, sprinkle-Als went to town to see abut a job on the missile work. I went to a meeting for our Home Demonstration club with Rays. Als stayed in town. I wrote to Teds & Dicks.
Sept 2nd Sat.-38+ to 46+,cloudy, rainy, windy-I read & rested, & then canned crab apples. Washed my hair. Als came home about 3. We went to Rays in the evening.
Sept 3rd Sun.-40+ to 72+,cool-Al jacked up the trailer house to straighten it. Altenhovens came to see calves. I went to church. Brenda has a cold.
Sept 4th Mon.-82+,windy, nice-I did a big washing & folded all the clothes. Gib & Al brought all the cattle in. Vernon came for water for school Al went to town in the evening to see about work. The rest of us went to Rays.
Sept 5th Tues.-88+,warmer-I ironed & trimmed Gib's hair. Al went to town early this morning, didn't get back until 6:30. Got a job on the State Highway Survey crew out of Roy.

Sept 21st Thurs.-46+,chilly-I helped Gib haul water. Worked on Fellowship lesson for tonight. Agusta came & I trimmed her hair & Sheila's. Gib & I went to Fellowship meeting at Virginia's.
Sept 22nd Fri.-48+,chilly-Al worked. Gib, I, Sonja & Brenda went to town. Saw Maxine & Gene. Gib & I had treatments. We got home about 6.
Sept 23rd Sat.-26+ to 45+,rainy, cool-Al & Sonja went to town. Gib & I hauled junk out & visited Baumans. Went to Rays in evening.
Sept 24th Sun.-26+ to 56+,nice-We had to wash. Mildred came. Baumans came. Don & Donny came for gasket shellac.
Sept 25th Mon.-62+,cool, windy-Gib & I brought 2 cows in to take to town tomorrow. I gave Sonja a permanent. Gib is testing for a new well. Al worked.
Sept 26th Tues.-26+ to 40+,rainy-Al worked. We took 2 cows to town. It rained & snowed. We saw Genes & the folks.
Sept 27th Wed.-26+ to 54+,nice-Al worked. I cleaned the house. Mildred brought her bread over to bake in Sonja's oven as the electricity was off 1 hour & 25 minutes. Gib & I went to Roy to get State gas tax made out.
Sept 28th Thurs.-37+ to 33+,cold-Al worked. Rays & Sonja went to town with us to WW1 meeting. Sonja washed at Maxines. We had supper at Bar 19. The girls went out later. Mildred & I stayed at Genes.
Sept 29th Fri.-30+ to 33+,cold & windy-Al worked. Gib hauled water. I patched overalls, ironed, baked bread & gave Stella a permanent.
Sept 30th Sat.-34+ to 50+,nicer-Gib & Ray went to WW1 meeting & dinner. Got home about 11. Mildred & I went to Agustas, then to her place in the evening.
October 1961
Oct 1st Sun.-60+,windy-We went to church with Rays. Gib & Al got water in a test hole below the well. Al worked on our car. Anns & Helens stopped while hunting.
Oct 2nd Mon.-65+,nice-Al worked we washed. Gib went to Rays. Gib worked on pump motor at the dam & helped Mike get water.
Oct 3rd Tues.-Al worked. I dug flower bed, raked yard, ironed, baked a cake & made Brenda 2 pillows. Gib helped Ray load cattle & worked around the place.
Oct 4th Wed.-83+,hot-Gib & I went to town. Had trouble with the car. Got our flu shots. Went to Deans after dinner & saw the folks. Stopped at Ida's on way home. Car stopped & Al pushed us home.
Oct 5th Thurs.-78+,nice-Sonja washed & gave me a Prom permanent. Mildred came & helped care for the baby. Gib worked on our car, took off gas tank. Al put on the shocks & put tank back.
Oct 6th Fri.-50+,cloudy-I swept & dusted. Sonja & I went to Irenes for Home Demonstration meeting with Charlotte. Als left for Helena at 7:15PM.
Oct 7th Sat.-36+,cold, light snow-I finished digging up my flower bed & transplanted the peonies. We went to Rays in evening & to Monte's dance at Valentine.
Oct 8th Sun.- 40+,chilly-We went to Legion convention at Lewistown with Rays. Got home about 9.
Oct 9th Mon.- 6+,lovely day-
Oct 10th Tues.- 64+, mostly cloudy, nice, sprinkle-We washed. I baked an apple pie & a meat stew. Gib tested for water. Our car wouldn't start & Ray is sick so we drove his car & took Mildred & Stella to Legion pot luck supper. Home at 12:15.
Oct 11th Wed.- 55+,nice-We cleaned cellar, washed windows, took down 2 screens & put on 5 storm windows. Gib took the carburetor off our car.
Oct 12th Thurs.- 53+,nice-Sonja went to town with us in Als car. She & Brenda had shots, Sonja got her eyes tested. I went to Presbyterial meeting all day.
Oct 13th Fri.-68+ to 72+,nice, windy-Cleaned cupboard & baked rolls & cookies. Gib worked at odd jobs. We went to Ed Styers in evening.
Oct 14th Sat.-76+,warm-I cleaned house & waxed living room floor. Brenda had an ear ache & I helped with her. Men tried out their guns.
Oct 15th Sun.-82+,-Gib & Al left at 5 to go hunting. Sonja & I drove to Busenbarks. Men got a doe. Mr. Weaver came.
Oct 16th Mon.-78+ to 60+,hot & windy-We washed. Gib worked around the place, hauled water & cut up deer. Mildred came & helped clean & wrap deer meat.
Oct 17th Tues.- 32+ to 40+,cold-Gib & Sonja went to town. I kept Brenda. Mildred came & helped me clean house & ground some deer meat. We made nut bread for Thursday night.
Oct 18th Wed.-52+,clear, nice-I cleaned & waxed utility room & porch. Washed some windows. Gib & Ray went to Bowser to get water tank we bought.
Oct 19th Thurs.-76+,nice-I waxed kitchen floor, dusted & got ready for our Fellowship meeting tonight. It was a lovely evening & there were just 20 people here.
Oct 20th Fri.-30+ to 36+,cold & windy-Gib & Sonja went to Lewistown. Gib got a tank to haul water in & Sonja got her new glasses. I kept Brenda. Mildred came & helped me do dishes. I made cookies. Frank McGinnis & brother-in-law came. Rays & us went to Mikes.
Oct 21st Sat.-20+ to 26+, cold, snow drifts-I ironed. Al worked on his car. Teds came about 4. I packed lunch.
Oct 22nd Sun.-46+,windy, thawing-Gib, Al, & Ted went hunting. We sewed on a dress for Brenda. The girls drove to Roy, came right back.
Oct 23rd Mon.-50+,nice, snow, thawing-I worked on a jacket for Hardee & pinned up several skirts for Betty. Sonja got a birthday supper for Al over here. Had Rays here too. Our deep freeze stopped running.
Oct 24th Tues.-40+,chilly & windy-Ted took our meat over to Rays. Gib took our freezer to Lewistown. Teds left for Roy. Sonja & I washed. Some of the clothes didn't dry. Gib bought new linoleum for porch.
Oct 25th Wed.-50+,chilly-I swept the house. Sonja & I drove to Roy, took Dorothy along. Sonja stayed with Betty & Dorothy & I went to Mrs. Harrells. Sonja came home with Al.
Oct 26th Thurs.-62+,cloudy, SW wind to NW wind-Sonja went with Al & she & Betty were going on to Lewistown. Gib & Ted went to Roundup for coal. I cleaned porch & hemmed skirts for Betty. Ted helped us put the linoleum down. We caught some hens.
Oct 27th Fri.-56+,cool, nice, snow-I mopped, dusted & washed my hair. Gib hauled a tank of water from Fleschs. Dicks came about 3PM.
Oct 28th Sat.-30+,wet snow & cold all day-Gib, Al & Dick brought a fat cow & 2 bulls in. Teds came about 10. They butchered the cow. Rays helped. The boys went hunting late PM.
Oct 29th Sun.-10+ to 32+,cold & clearing-Men cut up the meat. Teds left about 11. I gave Margie a permanent. They left about 3PM. I cut Al's hair.
Oct 30th Mon.-25+ to 46+,clear-Al went to work. I cleaned porch & wash room. Helped Gib empty water tank & looked at catalogs. Gib gave cows some straw & oil cake.
Oct 31st Tues.-52+,clear, mostly still-We did a big washing. Sonja finished her ironing. I cleaned the porch floor & put the quarter round down.
November 1961
Nov 1st Wed.-52+ to 36+,overcast, snow & wind after 5PM-Gib went to town to get the deep freeze home, back at 2:15. We unloaded it. I helped Sonja all day. We put plastic on the windows & put the new crib in.
Nov 2nd Thurs.-10+ to 20+,cold & clear-I dusted the house. We cut up Als beef & Sonja wrapped it. I mopped kitchen floor & ironed some.
Nov 3rd Fri.-31+,cold, snowing lightly-I washed my hair & finished ironing. Took Sonja & Mildred to Stella's Home Demonstration meeting in afternoon. Wrote to Harold.
Nov 4th Sat.-10+ to 20+,cold, clear & windy-Als went to town. We went to Rays & brought our frozen stuff home.
Nov 5th Sun.-17+ to 33+,nicer-Gib brought the cows home. We kept 6 to sell, took the rest out south again to pasture. Als came home about 1. He & Gib took horses to Sharps. Frank came for saddle.
Nov 6th Mon.-42+ to 48+,nice-I wrote to Helen, worked on lavender pillow & cross stitch apron. Gib worked on pickup & dragged yard & road. We got Ray's truck.
Nov 7th Tues.-20+,cool-Gib took 4 cows to town. I sewed some & cut out dress for Brenda.
Nov 8th Wed.-57+,warm-Gib & I went to town in pickup. I went to Dr. Culley. Saw the folks. We took some old hens in, had them dressed.
Nov 9th Thurs.-70+,lovely-We washed.
Nov 10th Fri.-65+,nice-Gib & I went to Roundup for a load of coal. Took 6 hours & 20 minutes, 80 miles. Home at 12:15. Al didn't have to work today, helped unload coal.
Nov 11th Sat.-We all cut & wrapped Al's deer. Gib hauled a tank of water for house. I cleaned house. Als went to town.
Nov 12th Sun.-35+,snow-I went to family night at church with Rays.
Nov 13th Mon.-47+,nice-Sonja & baby went to town with us. We had a blow out & car trouble. Gib got car fixed. I went to Dr. Culley. Brenda had a polio shot. We went to WW1 dinner. Got home at midnight.
Nov 14th Tues.-40+ to 32+, rainy & snow-Gib helped Don get his cattle over to Mikes. I finished 2 corduroy pillows. Al has a bad cold.
Nov 15th Wed.-18+ to 26+,clear-I cut & wrapped our deer. I wrote to Mae.
Nov 16th Thurs.-10+,clear-I baked rolls & apple crisps. Worked on mosaic tile hot dish mat. Gib took out fence on Rolphs dam. Mildred & I went to fellowship at Horynas. Al came home sick at 2:30.
Nov 17th Fri.-32+,clear-Al went to the Doctor for his throat. I kept Brenda, washed her clothes & got dinner for frank Hogeland. Als home about 1:30.
Nov 18th Sat.-38+,nice-Als went to town. I kept Brenda, washed my hair & cleaned house. Gib hauled water for cows. First trip.
Nov 19th Sun.-34+ to 31+ to 22+,nice-I gave Sonja a permanent. Brindley came to work on dams. Mildred came & helped take care of Brenda. Baumans came.
Nov 20th Mon.-34+,cloudy-Sonja went to town with us. Gib went to Harold Fox's funeral. Got our car worked on again. Al worked again.
Nov 21st Tues.-12+ to 32+,chilly-We washed. Gib hauled water for the cows.
Nov 22nd Wed.-30+ to 44+, rainy & windy-I cleaned house, cooked yams & made a salad. Gib hauled water. Al is out of a job.
Nov 23rd Thurs.-36+,cloudy-Als were the only ones here for dinner. Gib hauled water. The men looked at Rolphs dam.
Nov 24th Fri.-20+ to 40+ to 28+,clearing, fog-Al & Sonja went to town in our car to get something on his car fixed. I made a dress for Brenda & kept her today. Milton & Dorothy came in the evening.
Nov 25th Sat.-28+, snow-I made a pink dress for Brenda. Al & Sonja came in afternoon. We went to Rays in evening.
Nov 26th Sun.-14+ to 30+,overcast & stormy, wind-I worked on apron for Eileen.
Nov 27th Mon.-15+ to 42+,clear-Als went to town in afternoon. I made Brenda a blue dress, filled a pillow & worked on apron. Gib hauled water. Rays stopped a few minutes. We put new door threshold at north door.
Nov 28th Tues.-47+,nice-Gib hauled water. I went to Arlenes for some shirt patterns. Ironed & embroidered designs on 2 dresses & pillow case for Brenda. Ted Sirokys came to see Als in evening.
Nov 29th Wed.-4+ to 16+,snowy looking-I worked on pillow cases for Brenda. Gib & Al went to Roy for groceries & Al's check. I visited Sonja awhile.
Nov 30th Thurs.-15+ to 38+ to 44+,SW wind-Als went to Helena. We went to Lewistown in afternoon & saw the folks & Genes. Went to WW1 meeting in evening. Got home about 11:15.

Dec 1st Fri.-38+ to 46+ 32+ to 28+ to 14+,nice SW wind, thaw-Gib hauled water. Gib took Mildred, Stella & I to Mrs. Joe Kalina's to Home Demonstration meeting.
Dec 2nd Sat.-10+ to 20+,snowy looking, clearing-I cleaned house, washed my hair & made jelly. Gib hauled 2 loads of water. Harry Wright brought fuel.
Dec 3rd Sun.-18+ to 34+,windy-Rays went to church with us & had dinner here. I got a call from Bob & one from Dad, Uncle Ed died.
Dec 4th Mon.-36+,cool, windy-I baked bread, prune bread & a cake. Rays went to Lewistown with us to see champion fight on Gene's TV. We saw the folks for a few minutes.
Dec 5th Tues.-36+,strong wind-I washed, but couldn't hang out clothes. Gib hauled water. Cut out a suit jacket for Hardee & sewed some of it.
Dec 6th Wed.-18+ to 26+,partly cloudy-I hung out clothes, finished Hardee's jacket & pants & cut out a shirt for Ronnie. Gib hauled water, fed cows & cleaned chicken house.
Dec 7th Thurs.-12+ to 27+,light snow-We dressed 6 old hens. Mildred helped cut them up. I gave her a permanent. Gib helped Ray put a new pump on old pickup.
Dec 8th Fri.-12+ to 14+,light snow-I canned 13 quarts of chicken. Gib fed cows. I wrote to Harold & Dons & addressed a bunch of Xmas cards.
Dec 9th Sat.-12- to 2- to 5-,clearing-I cleaned house, washed my hair & ironed. Richard, Sharon & Ronnie came about 7:30.
Dec 10th Sun.-11- to 6-,cold-I cut & washed Sharon's hair & did it up. We made Xmas cookies. Dick came about 3:30 & left at 4:15. I worked on income tax.
Dec 11th Mon.-20- to 4+,cold, still-We left about 8:30, took 18 hens to town & brought out a load of oil cake. Got home at 2:10. I swept & put things away. Arlene & kids came. I worked on income tax business.
Dec 12th Tues.-20- to 8+,clear, SE breeze-I made cookies & candy. Gib hauled 2 loads of water. Sprayed a lousy bull. I finished a pin cushion for Eileen. We went to Legion meeting with Rays. Got home at 11:30.
Dec 13th Wed.-17+ to 27+,most clear-I wrapped packages for Bobs & Harold & wrote Xmas cards. Gib hauled water & fed cows. Some REA men worked on the line today. Telephone off all day. I wrote a bunch of Xmas cards.
Dec 14th Thurs.-10+ to 22+,nice-I cut out a shirt for Gary & Steve & a suit coat for Steve. Sewed up Steve's shirt. Agusta & girls came & I cut Sheila's hair. Gib hauled water. Put all chicken roosts on one side.
Dec 15th Fri.-7+ to 35+,nice-I finished 2 shirts. We went to see Mrs. Murphy about income tax. Got home at 2:30. Gib fed cows straw. Allens came home about 5PM.
Dec 16th Sat.-20+ to 36+,snow flurries-I cleaned house & made 2 kinds of cookies. Rays came. The kids came in awhile. They & Gib went to Rays in evening.
Dec 17th Sun.-30+,cold, strong wind-Gib & I went to church & helped clean it later. Genes came about 1:30. Mildred came & we made pop corn balls.
Dec 18th Mon.-10- to 5-,cold-I packed Xmas box for Richards, cookies for boy at Miles City, some for tonight & finished Stevie's pants. I went to Xmas party at the church with Rays.
Dec 19th Tues.-13- to zero-Dick came just after midnight. Charles Schwenke brought a load of hay. Sonja washed. I cut Al's hair & took care of Brenda. Al went to Roy. I made a white blouse for Brenda.
Dec 20th Wed. -Zero to 38+,lovely-Gib hauled 2 loads of water, helped stack a load of hay at Rays & sprayed 2 bulls. Als left after dinner for Helena where Al has a job. I wrote cards.
Dec 21st Thurs.-24+ to 37+,strong winds, blizzard-I made Gary's western shirt & started some pants. Gib hauled water & helped unload hay at Rays.
Dec 22nd Fri.-5+ to 25+,nice-I have a cold. Worked on Gary's pants. Rays came & helped unload hay here. Had dinner here. Gib hauled water. We drove over to Rays for some quinine, watched TV for 2 hours.
Dec 23rd Sat.-15+ to 37+,overcast-We cleaned the kitchen stove pipe & chimney. I cleaned house, put snaps on Gary's shirt, & finished his pants. Cut Gib's hair. We went to Rays.
Dec 24th Sun -31+ to 42+ to 48+,cloudy-Rays went to church with us. I frosted cookies for Gary. We covered north door. Had our gifts.
Dec 25th Mon.-28+ to 30+,-Gib did chores, then we left for town at 9:55. Saw Gary's present & went to the folks. Had dinner at Mary Hellers. Got home about 6 & read awhile.
Dec 26th Tues.-10+ to 26+,cloudy, chilly-Gib hauled 2 loads of water. I hemmed up Gib's new gray pants. Don Abel came in PM. We went to Roy for groceries. Went to Baumans in the evening.
Dec 27th Wed.-8+ to 22+,clear-Gib hauled water. I didn't do much but rest & look at Doctor book I'm going to send back.
Dec 28th Thurs.-Zero to 25+, cool & cloudy-We went to Lewistown. I did a big washing, cost $1.80. Had a treatment from Dr. Beatty. We got home about 4:30. I cut out & started to sew up a blue corduroy dress for Brenda.
Dec 29th Fri.-30+to 40+,cloudy, rain-Gib hauled 2 loads of water. I ironed & sewed up Brenda's dress.
Dec 30th Sat.-35+ to 40+,chinook-I cleaned house, washed my hair & read awhile. Mike & Stella came & I cut her hair. We went to Rays. Mildred took care of Vernon's kids.
Dec 31st Sun.- 30+ to 42+, lovely, like spring-We went to church. I went with Gib to get water. Monte & Donna came for eggs. Mrs Harry McLaughlin died.
