Jan 6th Thursday - Zero in morning, colder, 32 above - Ironed all day.
Jan 7th Friday - Washed.
Jan 8th Saturday - Windy, 42 above - Cleaned house.
Jan 9th Sunday - 40 above, nice - Messengers & Pucketts came. I baked and made doughnuts.
Jan 10th Monday - Nice - Ground sausage. Made Richard's cake. Rays came.

Feb 8th Tuesday - 12 above, light snow - I cut out aprons, fixed cap and baked pies. Frank Southworth came for water.

March 16th Thursday - 50 above, thaw - Washed. Gib fixed fence and worked on tractor. Frank Southworth came.
March 17th Friday - Rain & snow all day - Gib painted kitchen ceiling.
March 18th Saturday - Nice, 47 above - Cleaned house. Finished drying clothes. Gib & Gene fixed fence on Ackerlys.

March 21st Tuesday - Cool - Went to Roy for Tick fever inoculation. I ironed in PM.

March 23rd Thursday - 59 above, then cold and flurries, bad wind - Mildred came and I gave her a permanent. Mrs. Myers stopped. Baked bread.
March 24th Friday - Nice, windy - I cleaned house & waxed floor.
March 25th Saturday - Warmer, snow - Mildred fixed my permanent. Men went to meeting at Roy.
March 26th Sunday - 34 above, nice then snow - I washed our underwear & sox . Baked bread and a cake.
March 27th Monday - Cold & stormy - Started to paint kitchen walls. Got ready to go to Lewistown.
March 28th Tuesday - Snow - Went to Lewistown for tick fever shots. Snowed before we got home.

April 2nd Sunday - Nice - Got ready to go to Lewistown. Baked bread and Gib's cake.
April 3rd Monday - Went to Lewistown. Dr. Attax treated my legs.
April 4th Tuesday - 69 above, warm - Canned meat. Gib cleaned wheat.
April 5th Wednesday - Chilly - Canned meat & soup. Charles Lelek came. Gib cleaned wheat.
April 6th Thursday - Cloudy & windy - Made mince meat jam. Harry Wright brought tractor fuel. Gib cleaned oats.

April 14th Friday - 60 above - Gib duck footed on Sharps. I painted, baked bread, a cake, & ironed. Had school meeting.

May 7th Sunday - Smoky, nice, 66 above -Frank Southworth came for water. I baked. Gib & boys poisoned prairie dogs. Gib brought cattle home from Sharps. McLaughlins came.

Sept 1st Friday - Nice, showers - We took Gene to Lewistown to go to high school.
Sept 2nd Saturday - 70 above, cool -Rays came. We cleaned school house. Mike came Gib went to Swans.
Sept 3rd Sunday - 78 above, nice - Men combined on McLaughlins. Mildred & I oiled school house. I cleaned house.
Sept 4th Monday - Nice - Gib finished McLaughlins and moved to Galloways. I baked bread, cookies, fixed overalls and dusted.
Sept 5th Tuesday - 76 above, nice - Gib went to Roy to get Bob Langston. I canned pears & beans. Boys went to school.
Sept 6th Wednesday - 86 above, hot - Gib combined on Galloways. I canned plums. Mildred and Pucketts came. Cope brought coal.
Sept 7th Thursday - 92 above, hot - Gib finished Galloways. I washed at Mildreds. Mopped floors.
Sept 8th Friday - 83 above, hot - Gib cut on Copes & Rays. I hoed strawberries & ironed.
Sept 9th Saturday - 74 above, cool - Washed some windows. Gib & Richard brought tractor home and got the steers home.
Sept 10th Sunday - 76 above, nice - Baked bread and a cake. Shipped seven cattle. Swan came. Rays came.

Sept 12th Tuesday - 82 above, warm - Gib combined on Rays. I hemmed skirt and pants. Washed windows. Frank & Murna came.
Sept 13th Wednesday - 86 above, hot - Gib duck footed on Ackerlys. I ironed.
Sept 14th Thursday - Cool - I washed windows and cleaned silverware. Gib finished on Ackerlys at noon.
Sept 15th Friday-Chilly - Went to Lewistown. Brought Gene home.
Sept 16th Saturday - Cool -I washed & ironed Gene's clothes and baked. Gib duck footed. Gene looked at cattle.
Sept 17th Sunday - Cool - Rev. Fuller, 10 o'clock. We took Gene back to town. I cleaned house. Boys went to show.
Sept 18th Monday - Cool - Gib finished duck footing summer fallow. I canned peas and peaches. Frank & Murna came.
Sept 19th Tuesday - 65 above, cool - I canned pears & peaches. Gib harrowed alfalfa hay. We went to Cope's.
Sept 20th Wednesday - 70 above, mostly cloudy - Gib raked hay & saw cattle. I canned fruit.
Sept 21st Thursday - 75 above, nice - Gib helped Mr. Cope load wheat. I canned peaches & plums.
Sept 22nd Friday - 56 above, damp, cool, cloudy - I washed. Gib helped Mike with pigs. Put grate in school stove.
Sept 23rd Saturday - 76 above, nice - Cleaned house. Mildred came in PM. I ironed and made plum jam. Gib hauled hay.
Sept 24th Sunday - Nice - We went to church at school house. Mr. Jantz & Swan here for dinner.
Sept 25th Monday - 84 above, nice - I washed. Gib raked and dug potatoes. Messengers, Rays, Leleks, & Southworths came.
Sept 26th Tuesday - 76 above, showers, cool, cloudy - Gib got barley ground at Leleks. I varnished S side rug. Harold Puckett missing.
Sept 27th Wednesday - Cool - Gib looked at cattle, hauled water, and hay. I varnished dresser and book case. Got roosters at Mikes's.
Sept 28th Thursday-Nice-I painted floor & ironed. Gib hauled hay.
Sept 29th Friday - Cool & windy - I varnished machine, radio & rocking chair. Gib stacked hay.
Sept 30th Saturday - 28 above, light snow, cold - Cleaned house, baked a cake and a pie. Boys picked squash. Gib fixed bud rake.
October 1944
Oct 1st Sunday - Clearing, cool - Cottrell boy came. Alton & Alta for dinner. Charles & Ethel came. Gene went back.
Oct 2nd Monday - 68 above, nice - Gib & boys stacked hay after school. I looked at catalogs and patched a little.
Oct 3rd Tuesday - 82 above, nice - We looked at cattle and shut sow up. I packed Christmas box for Don and wrote letter.
Oct 4th Wednesday - Warm - I washed. Gib went to thresh at Southworths.
Oct 5th Thursday - 58 above, chilly wind - Ironed, baked and cut boys hair. Gib came with Frank for water. Teacher stopped.
Oct 6th Friday - Cool - Finished ironing. Gene came home with Rays. Gib helped Southworth thresh.
Oct 7th Saturday - Nice - The boys & I went to Galloway' sale with Copes. Gib helped Spiroffs thresh.
Oct 8th Sunday - 72 above, nice - Those we love, 12 noon. The boys went fishing with Ray & Vernon.
Oct 9th Monday - Cool, windy - We went to Roy. Put chickens in chicken house.
Oct 10th - Nice - Went to Lewistown. Took 32 hens in.
Oct 11th Wednesday - 70 above, still - Unloaded pigs. Gib got a load of coal. I cleaned house and baked bread.

Oct 22nd Sunday - Nice - Bob came home. Ann came home. Alton, Alta & my folks all in for dinner.
Oct 23rd Monday - 74 above, windy - I washed at home. Gib looked at cattle and horses. Put half the wire on Richards. Frank Southworth came.
Oct 24th Tuesday - 68 above, windy - Dampened clothes and mopped. Gib finished fence. Ray came.
Oct 25th Wednesday - 70 above, nice - Ray went to get posts. Mildred & I canned tomatoes. Gib bunched up straw.
Oct 26th Thursday - Too warm - Harveys brought coal, here for dinner. Bob, Gene, Margaret and girls came. I went to Pucketts with Rays.

Nov 1st Wednesday - 32 above, snow - Gib & Ray went hunting, but came home because it snowed. I baked bread & cookies. Frank Southworth came.

Nov 5th Sunday - Clearing - We went to Charles & Ethels wedding. Boys went to the show. Folks in new house.

Nov 9th Thursday - Nice - Ray & Cope helped brand our calves. Found dead cow. I baked bread and a lemon pie.
Nov 10th Friday - 54 above, cool - Gib & Cope went hunting. Got deer. I ironed and patched. Frank Southworth got water.
Nov 11th Saturday - Cold & windy - Dam builder here to get pay. Ray came. Gib & Richard skinned deer.

Nov 13th Monday - 36 above, cold - Ruby fresh. I baked bread and fruit cake. Gib looked at cattle and went to Delaneys. Buffalo in our pasture.
Nov 14th Tuesday - 40 above, light snow, fog then clear - Gib & Swan tore down school barn. I cut out dress and apron, and baked a cake.
Nov 15th Wednesday - 28 above, cold, clear, fog - Mr. Harvey, Gib, Swan, and Frank built school barn. Had dinner here.
Nov 16th Thursday - Cold, fog - I sewed on two piece dress. Gib dug post holes around stack. Ted sick.

Nov 18th Saturday - Cold & cloudy - Gib & Richard fenced stack. Delaneys came for buffalo. Allen & Ted sick.

Dec 15th Friday - 39 above, cooler - Gib put stays in fence & measured stacks. I ironed.
Dec 16th Saturday - 44 above - Harvey brought coal. Here for dinner. Fixed Mildreds permanent. Gib hauled straw.
Dec 17th Sunday - Nice - I baked. Copes came. Frank & Murna came at night. Baked an apple pie.
Dec 18th Monday - Nice - Gib helped Cope butcher, then fixed Frank's truck. I wrote Christmas cards.
Dec 19th Tuesday - 48 above, windy - We washed.
Dec 20th Wednesday - Nice - Went to see Mama. Stayed over night. Rays stayed with Richard & Allen.
Dec 21st Thursday - Nice, light snow - We came home in evening.
Dec 22nd Friday - 18 below - I baked bread. Made Mama's pajamas. Rays came in evening.
Dec 23rd Saturday - 20 above - Cut hair. Roasted chicken & venison. Ironed some.
